Are you an IT, Post Production or AV engineer looking to take the next step into the world of Animation/VFX?

Answered YES? We’re looking for someone just like you to upskill into a Media Systems Engineer role. We will provide on the job training, learning materials and support, all you need to bring is your prior experience in IT or AV Support, the thirst to learn new skills and a passion for all things film.

Once settled in, you will be responsible for providing high level support relating to frontline maintenance and troubleshooting of all physical and post-production related equipment. This position is also required to assist with the planning, designing, procurement and implementation of media technology systems.

What you’ll get to do:

  • Maintenance of media systems and associated software (Avid, Baselight, RV)
  • Support of Animal Logic’s DI and Editorial teams + theatres and conferencing solutions
  • Maintenance and calibration of Christie & Barco digital cinema DLP projectors and other displays
  • Create and maintain documentation using various tools including Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office 365, Visio etc.
  • Perform hardware, firmware, and software upgrades on media related workstations
  • Help to build and maintain efficient workflows for post-production services through research, evaluating new technology and trends to assess impact on production
  • Liaise with Systems Engineers to maximize system performance and reliability
  • Perform configuration to video and KVM routing systems
  • Participate in off-hours maintenance, upgrades and installation for systems when required
  • Work to ensure best security practices are met and maintained
  • Provide basic technical training to staff as required
  • Provide some assistance to the broader IT team when needed

What you bring:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role in AV, IT, Post Production/Broadcast
  • Experience in entertainment/media industry is highly desirable
  • Installation and maintenance experience of complex audio/video systems
  • Qualifications in Audio Visual/Broadcast or related field (or equivalent professional experience) is highly desirable
  • Knowledge and/or experience with projection technology and applications and AV networking streaming technology
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshot OS and application issues
  • Experience creating and maintain documentation and providing basic technical training to others
  • Collaborative and customer focused with the ability to manage internal and external relationships
