Multithreading USD and Qt: Adding Concurrency to Filament
Filament, Animal Logic’s proprietary USD-based PyQt lighting DCC, will be highlighted in this talk about how we updated it to parallelize USD stage processing to reduce processing time, as well as adopt asynchrony to keep the main GUI thread unblocked, significantly improving artist experience.

Real-Time Refraction Shader for Animation
In this talk, uncover our solution to simulate light refraction in deformable characters’ eye corneas in Autodesk® Maya®’s viewport! See how our team integrated this feature into our USD pipeline and in Maya and how the results produced are similar to an offline render without impacting interactivity for animators.
